- After a war 150 years ago, there was an agreement that allowed high king to ascend to throne, but they gave a lot of power to the 4 grand dukes Grand Duchy of Oakheart, Grand Duchy of Baklum, Grand Duchy of Flanaess, and Grand Duchy of Suel.
- Grand Duchy of Suel is not conforming the the High King’s (Eadred the Wise) rule (except to his face). So tensions are rising with the east side of the Kingdom.
Culture
- Highly religious (people try to be monkish). No religious conflicts.
- People fear tiamet.
- Not a lot of education. Mostly guilds/apprenticeships.
- Magic is generally considered a decent tool.
- Population fears syphilus.
Other
- No known cursed/magical zones.
- Not much travel/trade outside the empire.
- Travel by water is in danger of Sahuagin, they don’t have an embassy.
- No civilizations have fallen in human living memory.
